Magical Unicorn 4th Birthday
Romi turned four this weekend! Ive actually been quite emotional thinking about not having a baby in the house anymore. Is it really bad that I’ve constantly looking back at lots of old videos of the kids? Last year she had a really bad flu, she slept through the whole day and didn’t have much of a celebration. So this year I wanted to plan something fun with her. She didn’t disappoint with her enthusiasm and input for her Unicorn day! I had been recommended www.mygreatestparty.com by a friend and they got straight to work making our vision come to life.
We looked at several themes such as Trolls, Disney Frozen and Sleeping Beauty. Romi told me that she would really love a Unicorn theme. We had the choice of bright or pastel colours, and she opted for the latter. For entertainment we enjoyed dressing up with unicorn tutus and headbands for dressing up. Glittertattoos, unicorn hair, colouring activities, cotton candy and the super delicious Unicorn milkshakes!
A traditional party favourite with young children! Ironically the only children out of the 16 in attendance that didn’t get their face painted were my two! Romi chose this over a princess coming to the party, I think she was too busy having a great time with other activities to have hers done.
I decided to make a pass the parcel for the children and its something that is quite a generic party game in England. However all our Dutch and expat friends where really impressed with the game! Each layer had a small bag of sweets, with the last prize being a colouring book, pens and a set of bubbles.
We had a few poloroid cameras around the house, we’ve got some super cute images from the day. Im planning to make a little book with all the pictures, it will be a great way to look back at Romi’s special party.
After searching for the perfect dress for a while Romi and I had a look at the Itty Bitty Toes website. I was a little reluctant to buy from a US based company, when I had no idea of sizing etc for the clothes. However we both loved the dresses and the online customer service was amazing. Romi chose the Princess Aisha Dress in the Rose Gold and the matching hair clip. It came within five days which was sooner than initially stated. I adored that packaging, the fit and quality was perfect. The tulle is incredibly soft and fabric non scratchy. She had it on all day, hours after everyone had gone home I would definitely say it was conformable for her. A dress fit for a Princess!
www.mygreatestparty.com did a wonderful job with the set up of the Unicorn party and they were brilliant with all the kids.. Spiderman Party for Nico next?
